Upcoming Spring Events

The team has a lot coming up in the spring. Our show season will continue the weekend of February 11 & 12 at Meredith Manor in West Virginia. There will also be a double horse show on March 11 at Grier School and Regionals will also be hosted there on March 12. The team has another Model Horse Show comingon April 1st. We have a full schedule for the spring,  come on out and support the team at any of the events!

Coach Tammy Braham

• SRU Western Equestrian Team is coached by equine professional, Tammy Braham. Tammy has been in the equine industry for more than 25 years! Not only does she coach Slippery Rock, but she also coaches Clarion University and Grove City College's western teams. She is also the coach for a competitive high school team. Her talent does not stop at coaching. Tammy is a well known horse trainer. Her business, Braham Quarter Horses, is run out of her home farm is Grove City. The team is greatfull to have such a wonderful coach! 

Model Horse Show Extravaganza

On November 20th the SRU Western Equestrian Team hosted one of our best fundraisers, our Model Horse Show Extravaganza! Model horse shows are always our best fundraisers and really help the team bond with the communtiy. This gives folks who love to show their Model Horses a great opportunity to help support the team as well. It has createded great relationships between team members and community members. The team appreciates all the support and looks forwarding to hosting more model horse shows in the future!

An Intro to SRU Western Equestrian Team

For those of you who do not know, Slippery Rock University has a club western equestrian team. We are a competitive collegiate team. We are in Zone 2 Region 5 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). The team competes against West Virginia University, Clarion University, Grove City College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, California University of Pennsylvania, and Bethany College.



The team has been very competitive the past couple of years. In the Fall 2014/Spring2015 season SRU was High Point team for the region and competed at Semi Finals in Oklahoma. Ever since we have been Reserve High Point Team and still had team members compete individually at the Semi Final and National level.
